ARE WE EXPECTED TO BE WORKING IN THE OFFICE?

This time last year, we were still coming out of COVID lockdowns, with states like NSW and VIC predominately working from home. At the time our survey found that 65% of people wanted flexible work, and only 9% of people wanted to work in the office.

Flash forward to today, and 14% of surveyed respondents said they want to be working in the office, with an additional 30% reporting that they are working in the office because their employer wants them to.

As we renavigate what our workplaces look like post covid, this desire for flexibility has turned into an expectation. Now 38% of people expect flexible working arrangements. Employers have redesigned their workplaces to allow for flexibility as it encourages productivity in their teams.

In recruitment, we are finding that companies not willing to assimilate to flexible work arrangements are struggling to find candidates to fill their roles.

If you are a candidate who is in a workplace that doesn’t allow for flexibility, it may be time to think of a career change. Reach out to empire group today to find out about the opportunities that suit your experience: administration@empiregroup.com.au or call 07 3231 1200!
